Humanitarian Victory

Our desire is to see lives transformed by God’s love.

A goal

Our Mission

“To demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to people who are in need due to specific circumstances, so that they may always have hope and faith in Christ.”

Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Malaïka Orphanage

On February 10, 2015, Merveille Maliro met with Pastor Joël Spinks and his wife Mathilde, founders of the Église de la Victoire du Québec, to explain to them the dire situation facing many children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Merveille, a native of that country, has always been committed to helping vulnerable children.

The Spinks pastors welcomed the idea of helping the children of the Congo and involved the entire church in the effort. That is how Victoire Humanitaire began.

From the Nehemiah Project to the Malaïka Orphanage

We began with the Nehemiah-Congo project, which was designed to cover the medical expenses of sick and underprivileged children, as well as their school tuition. On February 22, 2015, the Église de la Victoire in Quebec held a special offering for this project. The first initiative, therefore, was to assist six sick children suffering from severe malnutrition at the Katwa General Reference Hospital. Another portion of the donations helped fund the education of 17 other orphaned students at the Vungi Institute in Butembo.

About two months later, we learned of the death of a generous woman who had been taking in orphans into her home. During our first visit, we had paid the medical bills for two of the children in her care while they were staying at the Katwa Hospital. This news touched us deeply; we realized that these children had just lost, once again, a parental figure. We then had the vision to open an orphanage (Malaïka Orphanage) that would take in children who no longer had parents or anyone to care for them. The Église de la Victoire du Québec established the Victoire Humanitaire ministry to support this orphanage, with the goal of:
– providing a warm home,
– meeting basic needs,
– offering spiritual and emotional support,
– providing education and instruction.

On August 31, 2015, when it first opened its doors, the Malaïka Orphanage welcomed its first twelve precious children, who had lost one or both parents under special circumstances. Church members sponsor the children at the Malaïka Orphanage in Congo on a monthly basis.

To Be an Angel to Someone

OUR VISION

“Malaïka” means “angel” in Swahili. The Malaïka Orphanage’s mission is to offer everyone
who wishes to do so the opportunity to be a source of support—an angel—for young children in need. The Malaïka Orphanage is a haven
of peace where every child is given a fresh start.

“Are not angels spirits in God’s service, sent to help
those who are to inherit salvation?”
